Black & pink

With emo you would think about the color black. It's a fact that black is a really important color of the emo subculture, but this isn't the only color. A lot of emo's do wear besides black also pink (or other bright collors). Black combinated with pink is the favorite color combination of emos because this color combination has some meanings. There isn't one meaning. There are several meanings and every emo has his/her own meaning by this combination:

Emos do support gender equality. By wearing the colors black and pink some emos show this idea. Black stands for men and pink stands for women. By wearing these 2 colors you show that everyone has the same characteristics, no matter if you're a girl or a boy. A spanish emo boy once told me that the colors black and pink in the emo subculture means that boys and girls have the same feelings.

Some emos do wear the colors black and pink because this is a symbolic for their feelings. The color black stands for the depressed and sad emotions while pink stands for the bright and happy emotions. Wearing this color combination shows that you're an very emotional person. A person full of feelings.

A polish emo girl told me once that the colors black and pink stands for creepy and cute. Black stands for being dark and creepy while pink stands for cute of course. A lot of people think that emos do wear creepy black stuff but that's not it. Being creepy is more gothic like. Emos do like creepy stuff but its creepy with a flavour of cuteness. Like cute dead rabits, skulls with bows, skeleton kittys and stuff like that. It's a part of your shyness. And so has every emo their own meanings by wearing pink and black! Black and pink means emo.

Aww, so many different ways you can think of the colors black and pink!

Is it okay that I really don't like the color pink? Like, I'm not going to be kicked out of the subculture because I hate the color pink, am I?
